He was visiting the CNG bus terminal in Surjani Town on Monday.
The CNG bus service, had been operating in the city to provide cheap transportation facilities to citizens but was terminated in April 2013.
During his visit, the administrator reviewed various aspects of the restoration plan, including maintenance, ticketing procedure and routes for the bus service.
In the briefing to the KMC administrator, it was said the bus service had been launched on two long routes in the city — first from Surjani to Korangi and second Surjani to Tower — with about 48 vehicles.
The citizens of Karachi had appreciated this bus service which had provided them with convenient and cheap travel facility through comfortable CNG buses. Ticket booths had also been established alongside both routes.
Meanwhile, the administrator gave directions to take all necessary measures for early restoration of the CNG bus service, which he said was a boon for lower-middle and middle class travellers.
